Standing six-foot-three with the unhurried ease of a cowboy, Yashvardhan Shastri is an old soul working in a young medium. Born and raised inside the rose-hued walls of Jaipur, he shoots where he grew up — the bazaars of Johari, the ramparts of Nahargarh, the quiet courtyards of the old city.

His frames carry what the city carries: worn plaster, old brass, morning light. When he isn't behind the camera he's on one of his machines — a '50s Royal Enfield or a Willys jeep — rolling through the pink lanes like a frame from another era.
